I believe every student deserves to have the academic, social, and behavioral skills they need to be successful. I have thirteen years of experience teaching and instructional coaching in special education in Sioux Falls. My background includes leadership in MTSS, developing PBIS systems, and designing and implementing interventions to support student growth.

My husband, Richard, and I moved to Rapid City in the summer of 2026, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be a Cobbler. I look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to support student growth.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Geography Education from Augustana College in Illinois, my master’s degree in Special Education from Morningside College in Sioux City, and my Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Sioux Falls.

Asst. Principal
Students M-Z

I love helping students and staff thrive! After graduating from Central High, I earned a Bachelor’s in Secondary Science Education and a Master’s in Education from Augustana University. I spent several years teaching science here at Central and also served six years in the Army National Guard as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Plumber, an experience that sharpened my leadership skills (and my ability to stay cool under pressure!). In 2023, I transitioned into administration, where I’m excited to bring energy, creativity, and passion for learning.

I am originally from Park Rapids, MN.  I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education

Prior to coming to Central, I was Dean of Students at Franklin County School in Florida.
Outside of school I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy fishing and camping in the Black Hills. I am married to my wife, Barb and have two sons, Mitchell and Christian.
I am looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and parents of Central High School, help develop students into the best they can be, and help make Central a positive school that the community can be proud of.
