Hello, Juniors! March is a busy time for your class! You will be taking the ACT test this week, registering for classes next week, and ending the month with Spring Break!聽 Please take a minute to look at important updates and opportunities for March. We hope you have a great spring break 馃檪
All juniors are taking the ACT test on Wednesday, March 6th. Please make sure you have made the needed preparations to be ready for the test. Below is what you need to know!
Testing room assignments are posted outside of the Cobbler Career Center. Find your testing room today so you are prepared on Wednesday! Good luck on the test 馃檪
Also, make sure that you disable Teams at startup by following these directions:

Frequently Asked Questions about Registration
You should have received your registration packet during GRADtime on February 28th. You will register for your classes during the next GRADtime on March 13! 聽Registration will close the evening of the 13th. 聽We encourage you to take some time and think about your class options for next year. 聽What you sign up for on 3/13 is what you will be taking next year! 聽If you have questions about classes, please talk to your teachers or school counselor. 聽We are happy to help you with this process!
If you are not at school on the 13th and do not register ahead of time, please make an appointment with your school counselor on March 14-15 to help enter your classes into Skyward.
If you do not sign up for classes by the evening of March 13, your school counselor will automatically sign up for what you need to graduate. 聽You will NOT be able to make changes once registered. This is why it鈥檚 important for you to register yourself and pick the classes YOU want!
Dual Enrollment

What is DUAL ENROLLMENT?

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 聽Dual enrollment is taking a college class where you receive college credit AND high school credit for graduation.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 聽It helps you get a jumpstart on your college classes and saves you money making it much cheaper in high school.

o聽 聽Dual enrollment cost per credit while in high school =聽$48.33

o聽 聽Full college tuition cost per credit after graduation =聽$259.10聽(SDSU for reference)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 聽Dual enrollment for the fall opens as early as April 1st聽and we recommend being registered before you leave school for the summer so your school counselor can assist you with this process.聽 (teachers and school counselors are not at school during the summer!)

USD Healthcare Careers Camp

The USD Healthcare Careers Camp is open to high school students who will be juniors or seniors in the Fall of 2024 and who have an interest in pursuing careers in health care. Stay on the USD Campus and explore careers! Tuition is $100 and there is limited financial aid assistance. Please see the attached brochure.

SD Child Development Credential

If you love working with young children and would like to work in a daycare or as a daycare provider, there is an online certification program. Please see the attached document for more information.
