IMPORTANT—-

Please always check in with Stephanie before going to your counselor’s office.

Please make appointments with your counselor outside of class time.  This can be during opens, before or after school, or lunchtime.

What if it’s an emergency?  Sometimes it’s hard to define what a true emergency is.  This is where you need to use your best judgement if it is something that can wait for an appointment or needs to be addressed right away.  If you have safety concerns for yourself or someone else, please come to the CCC right away and we will make sure someone is able to meet with you.

On Wednesday, September 20th, all sophomores will be taking the PreACT, the practice test for the ACT college entrance exam. The PreACT will test your performance in Math, Science, English, and Reading. You will get a predicted score for the ACT which can help you determine how you can best prepare for the real test that colleges will see.

Your testing rooms will be posted near the Cobbler Career Center starting Monday, Sept. 18th.  Bring wooden pencils and a calculator.  Check your email for more information about testing to come.

The first GRADtime lesson will be on Wednesday, September 13.  On this day, please refer to the school Advising/Assembly Schedule.  During the Advising time, you will report to your specific GRADtime class.  You can see which classroom and teacher you go to on your Skyward schedule.

If you have questions, please reach out to your assigned GRADtime teacher or your School Counselor.

School Activities = future success

Did you know… that getting involved in some sort of extracurricular activity can set you apart when applying for college and scholarships?  Extracurricular activities allow students to explore their interests and passions.  College admissions departments report that getting involved in activities helps students learn to be challenged in different ways and set goals for themselves outside of the classroom.  It is important to start this process early in high school and not wait until junior/senior year.

For more information about why extracurricular activities are important for the college admission process and scholarships, read —Why Extracurricular Activities Matter in College Admissions | IvyWise
